Things You Will Need to Be Recruited

*Now that you have a Game Plan for Recruiting what things will college coaches want to see from you? Do not assume that College Coaches will find you because more than likely they won’t. So it is critical that you introduce yourself to these College Coaches and get them the things they will need to potentially recruit you.

Once again, get professionally evaluated so you are not wasting time reaching out to the wrong coaches. You will be going to school full time, lifting weights, going to practice, playing in games, doing homework and participating in high school student activities. You don’t have time to waste reaching out to the wrong College Coaches. Here are the basic things you will need.

1) High School Transcripts so a College Coach will know if you are on track academically to gain admission into their school. If you aren’t he will be able to tell you what you need to do to get there.

2) Football Highlight Video so a College Coach can see you in action on the football field live against other players. A high-quality Highlight Video put together the right way and in order is critical to your success.

3) Fill out the College Football Team’s Recruiting Questionnaire so that they have the information they need to potentially recruit you. Make sure that you give them your contact information so that they will know how to find you.

4) A list of your Measurables so College Coaches will know what type of Athlete you are. You will need your Height, Weight, 40 Time, 5-10-5 Shuttle Time, L Drill Time, Bench Press Max, Squat Max, Vertical Jump and Broad Jump. There are several ways to gather these but the best way is with a trusted source so that College Coaches can verify the accuracy.

5) Ask your High School Football Coach for help. It is NOT your High School Coaches responsibility to get you a scholarship. He just doesn’t have enough time in his day to take care of your recruiting needs. However, he can sure help you a lot if you keep him in the loop and let him know what your Recruiting Goals are.

*Getting an early start on your recruiting process will change the game for any student-athlete wanting a football scholarship. A helpful is to attend camps and combines. Camps and combines will NOT get you a scholarship contrary to popular belief. Basically, they are there to gauge yourself against other same-caliber athletes. They will help, but getting national exposure is the most important key to success.

*The most important aspect of being recruited might be exposure. It’s true you need talent, size, speed and strength but even if you rate very high in these attributes if the college coaches don’t know about you they can’t recruit you!
