Why are you a college student-athlete prospect? I have a great passion for football, specifically long-snapping. In football, I find myself working hard to improve my skills more than anything else. I like being a part of something larger than myself, a team, and bonding with other players and coaches. I feel like I am a good, positive supporter of my teammates. I'd like to pursue a career in Athletic Health care and work with student athletes like myself and better them too.

Long Snapping - Charted Video for College Coaches

Long Snapping – Punter – heals at 15 yards:

*Recommended camera position – on the field facing, ground level, on the side of the LS & have in full view the Holder or Punter in full screen!

*Recommend using an experienced Holder and Punter – (Teammates are great!)

*Video 10 consecutive punting long snaps from 15 yards. (Keep the camera going through the 10 reps)

*Chart the times and accuracy.

MFE-Index measures accuracy and velocity:

  1. Strike Zone = snap on target in Punters hands expended from the belt buckle to Pec, Punters hands extended inside of armpit.
  2. Edge Strike = Punters hands relocate for snap no more than 10 inches in any direction: high, low, outside RT, outside LT.
  3. Ball = Punters hands must move greater than 10 inches in any direction and the snap is considered off target!

Short Snapping / PAT-FG:

  • Holder back knee down at 7 yards
  • Video 10 consecutive PAT/FG snaps with the camera rolling at all times with camera angle on the side of LS with full view of Holder.

*Chart the times and accuracy.

MFE-Index measures accuracy and velocity:

  1. Strike = Snap in Holders hands directly over the spot of the ball placement / (Tee in HS) with Stings of ball facing away from Place Kicker – 18-24 inches from spot on ground.
  2. Edge Strike = Snap is within 5 inches of Holders target hand in any direction.
  3. Ball = Snap is greater than 5 inches in any direction from Holders target hand.

*Recommend charting the Long Snaps & Short Snaps on separate days!

Rubio Review

Luke did really well at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXI Event on January 12-14, 2018. Snaps are very smooth and easily catchable by the punter. Form is good and he has some solid balance. Hands are quick and the ball gets out of the gate really well. Kid is good and has the potential to be great. Luke was actually really close to being on the TOP 12 camp invite list and would shock me to not see him on it at VEGAS XXXII. Improving his overall athleticism a bit more and making sure he is gettin gup out of his follow through a bit quicker will really push him up the rankings. He is on the verge of greatness.

Luke was solid at the Rubio Long Snapping Fall Camp in OH on December 17, 2017. Form is very good and I like the length of his body. Moves well on his feet going forward or side to side. Hips are good. Ball speed is goid at fifteen yards with times ranging from .75 to .83. Locking down the consistency of his snapping motion and his spiral will really help his overall speed to be more consistent. if Luke can can snap a .75 once, I know he can do it over and over again. Accuracy is good as you can tell with his RSI which almost hit 30 in Ohio. Upside is outstanding on Luke and he is easily one to watch at VEGAS XXXI and beyond. Huge jump in the rankings

Luke did well at the Rubio Long Snapping spring camp in NC on March 12, 2017. He has good size and length. Definitely the potential to be one of the top 2019 Long Snappers within the next couple of month. By VEGAS 30, I would like to see him focus on making sure he is leading with his elbows to create more whip on the ball. Also, if Luke can not drag the ball back at the start of the snapping motion, he will really increase the speed of the ball. With his size and length, he could easily be sub .85 by VEGAS 30.
